This cartoon was my first installment of a sprite series called "Julius Saves The Mushroom Kingdom". The plot is this: Years after Bowser's biggest attack (Super Mario Brothers 3), he invades the Mushroom Kingdom yet again, with full force. During the time of the last war, the Mushroom people stole sever aircraft and tank designs from the Koopa Army, and thus formed a vast military. Despite their best efforts, the Mushroom people have to resort to help from the Mario brothers, until they can't handle it alone. The king of Grassland decides to use their ultimate weapon... Me. They summon me from the real world, equip me, and send me on a one-man mission to stop the invasion.
The idea for this cartoon came from a computer game that I designed in my 11th grade year in high school. Around that time, I started to get back into my glory days of playing NES, therefore, I wanted to create my own take on Super Mario 3, in which I'm the hero. In the original game idea for "Julius Saves The Mushroom Kingdom", there were no Mario brothers: The idea was that they were too old to fight Bowser, which is why they needed the world's greatest Nintendo ace to deal with it.
This cartoon premiered on Newgrounds.com on May 17th, 2005, and won a daily 4th place award for 5/18/2005.
